Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born into a mixed ethnic family. Her mother and father were both English. She grew up on a south London council estate and attended The Brit School at age 14. The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art is where she earned an acting BA. She performed in various stages during her high school days, including the King Henry V and Wuthering Heights.
Madekwe began her acting career by starring in a movie titled Storm Damage. Since then she's made appearances as a guest for Teachers, Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's debut film is that of the Woody Allen 2007 movie Cassandra's Dream. She starred alongside Colin Farrell & Ewan MacGregor. The film's success resulted in her being cast as Elisha in a one-off BBC Three drama West 10 LDN pilot, then appear in six episodes Trexx and Flipside in the role of Ollie. In the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl featured her in 2008 playing Bambi. Madekwe also appeared on the comedic How to Lose Friends and alienate others (2008). Some of her theatre credits include Little Sweet Thing (by Roy Williams) as well as Flight Path (by David Watson).
Madekwe debuted in the US in the US with The Beautiful Life. The drama show was telecast at The CW for only two episodes, but it was cancelled. Ashley Davenport, a character from ABC's Revenge drama, was chosen as Ashley Davenport. Madekwe appeared in all episodes in the series' first two seasons as the show's regular. In May of 2013, it was announced that announcement was made that she would be departing the show following her guest appearance in the first episode of the series' third season. In the TV series Salem, she played Tituba from 2014 until 2016. Her long-time friend, Iddo, married Madekwe in June of 2012. They have worked together on Secret Diary of a Call Girl in the past, and Goldberg was also on the show with Madekwe on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat, an actress who was twice nominated for the Gemini Award, hails from an extensive Hamilton family. Ashley Leggat was a part of Roy and Patty along with her three older siblings: Brett, Todd and Bram and Rob. Ashley was raised in the arenas and baseball parks because her four athletic brothers all played hockey and baseball and both in the spring and summer. Ashley was never able to walk, but she danced. When she turned two-and-a-half she began Baby Ballet and fell in with. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing after she started Baby Ballet. Ashley competed in top-level divisions of tap, jazz hip-hop, ballet lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics and pointe, until she finished from high school. All of the important dance competitions, including International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, have awarded her the title "top Soloist".
